Melissa Davis, NCC, LPC, She/her/hers
Hello! I am Melissa; wife, mother, grandmother, and dog mom. When not working you can find me spending time with my family, reading a book, watching tv/movie, crafting, exploring outdoors, enjoying delicious foods, or playing Animal Crossing. As a counselor, I am deeply passionate about helping others find relief from psychological distress while creating a life they truly love. I have a heart for working with adults, pre-marital couples, marriages, and adolescents as they tell their stories, discover growth and healing, and move forward with purpose and clarity.
As a former military spouse, I also understand the unique challenges that come with that lifestyle and bring compassion and insight into my work with individuals and families navigating similar experiences.I also have a deep passion for empowering and encouraging women of all ages to explore who they are, heal from what holds them back, and grow into the person they desire to be.
My professional counseling experience includes working with addiction recovery, low self-esteem, depression, suicidal ideation, childhood trauma, marriages, ADHD, grief, and individuals navigating the empty nest stage of life. I have completed Level One training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am a certified SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) facilitator. I am also currently in training for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to better support clients who feel stuck or are working through unresolved trauma.
My approach to therapy is eclectic, with a strong blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered care. This means that I believe our thoughts are powerful and play a significant role in our mind-body-spirit connection; When you have positive thoughts, it shifts your perspective and when your perspectives shift, your life looks different. I also believe you are the expert of your own life, I will listen and follow your lead on what healing looks like to you while gently guiding you in the areas you’ve identified that you want to grow in.
I consider it a privilege to walk alongside others in their healing journey and strive to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, valued, and empowered. Whether you are seeking support for a specific challenge or just growth and clarity, I welcome you to reach out and invite me to be a part of your journey.
