Carrie Klare, NCC, LPC-Supervisee, She/Her/Hers
Hello! My name is Carrie Klare, and I am a recent graduate of South Dakota State University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and currently working towards licensure in South Dakota under supervision as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-Supervisee).
In addition to pursuing licensure, I am trained in Brain spotting Phase 1 and Phase 2, a trauma-based treatment method and am working on a Foundational Competencies in Older Adult Mental Health certification from Rush University Medical Center.
Beyond my professional qualifications, I am a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, runner, and exercise enthusiast. As a runner, I recognize the significant impact of exercise and nutrition on our physical, mental, and emotional health, which guides my holistic approach to counseling. I firmly believe in nurturing our mind, body, and spirit to optimize our mental health well-being.
My primary focus is working with adults, and I am particularly passionate about serving the older adult population. As a member of the Baby Boomer generation, I am keenly aware of the unique challenges and transitions this demographic faces. I am dedicated to supporting older adult clients as they navigate life-changing events, losses, and celebrations. As a member of the American Society of Aging, I participate regularly in continuing education online seminar courses, reflecting my commitment to understanding and addressing the evolving mental health needs of older adults. Another passion of mine is providing counseling services to domestic violence victims and survivors, offering a compassionate and supportive environment for their unique healing process. Seeking mental health counseling takes tremendous courage, and I honor this courage with gentle compassion in a calm and inviting space. My office hours are Tuesday through Thursday and Friday mornings. I am currently accepting new clients and would be honored to join you on your journey.
